Waterproofing exterior walls of buildings
Building materials can deteriorate and become porous.
In some houses over the years, water penetration can become a major problem leading to many other secondary problems.
Our range of masonry water repellents provide weather protection to porous building materials to prevent penetrating damp and protect against freeze thaw cycles and frost damage.
After application it penetrates deeply into the pores and dries clear to provide long lasting protection. Our range of liquid masonry water repellents encompass water based and solvent based products depending on the work required.
Water repellent can be used on most types of masonry, we also have a product that is most suited where fresh mortar or render is encountered.
The water repellent that we most like to use is based upon the active ingredient polyoxoaluminium stearate in an aliphatic solvent and is designed to prevent penetrating damp, and as such can be applied by brush or spray onto brick, stone, concrete, masonry and other porous surfaces.
The water repellent that we use meets the requirements of BS6477:1992 – Specification for water repellents for masonry surfaces.
It is a clear solvent based, ready for use liquid, thus ensuring that when used in its neat state, the maximum protection is given to the treated surface.
After curing, water repellent will produce an invisible hydrophobic barrier. Treated surfaces will repel water, however the vapour permeability will be unaffected, allowing the walls to breathe.
Remember that liquid water repellent will prevent penetrating damp and reduce the risk of damage caused to masonry by the freeze/thaw cycle.

Effective on all types of properties etc:-
Treated surfaces stay cleaner longer.
Greatly reduces internal dampness on “single skin” solid walled buildings, ie where there is no cavity.
Helps greatly towards the reduction of mould contamination within properties, where mould is caused by penetrating damp.
By keeping the wall and substrate dry, excessive heat loss through damp walls is reduced.
Helps to reduce internal dampness, especially where water penetration is an issue, this is especially so in older buildings with very thick solid walls, where the water from outside seeps into the wall, making the infill between the inner and outer walls heavy and damp.
